It is widely distributed across several countries in Europe, including Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, and the Balkans, as well as parts of Asia, such as Siberia, Iran, and the Himalayas.
The Eurasian lynx is characterized by its distinct physical features, including a muscular body, short tail, and large, tufted ears. It has a dense and soft fur coat that varies in color, commonly ranging from rusty brown to grayish-brown, with scattered spots covering its body. This camouflage adaptation allows it to blend effectively with its forested habitats.
As a solitary and carnivorous predator, the Eurasian lynx primarily feeds on ungulate species, including deer and small-to-medium-sized mammals, supplemented by birds, reptiles, and occasionally, fish.
