Etymology of GALAGOS
The word "galagos" is derived from the Greek word "galagoi", which means "a kind of small ape". It was first used by the Swedish naturalist Carl Linnaeus in 1758 when he classified a certain species of primate found in Africa. The term "galagos" was later Latinized to "Galaginiae" in a subsequent classification.
