Sialoangiitis, also known as chronic sclerosing sialadenitis or Kuttner tumor, is a medical condition characterized by inflammation and fibrosis of the salivary glands. It primarily affects the major salivary glands such as the parotid and submandibular glands, leading to the obstruction of salivary ducts and subsequent accumulation of saliva within the glands.
This condition is considered to be a chronic and slowly progressive disease. The inflammation and subsequent fibrosis cause the salivary glands to become hard and swollen, leading to symptoms such as pain and swelling in the affected glands, dry mouth, and difficulty in eating and talking. In some cases, recurrent infections of the salivary glands may also occur.
The exact cause of sialoangiitis is not fully understood, but it is believed to be an autoimmune disorder, where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its own salivary glands. It has also been linked to bacterial or viral infections, as well as certain medical conditions such as Sjögren's syndrome or HIV/AIDS.

This may include pain medication, warm compresses to relieve swelling, oral hygiene measures to prevent infections, and in some cases, surgical intervention to remove obstructed salivary ducts or scar tissue. In more severe cases, immunosuppressive medications may be prescribed to control the autoimmune response.
