St Simon the Apostle was one of the twelve Apostles chosen by Jesus Christ. According to the Bible, he was known as Simon the Zealot, distinguishing him from Simon Peter. He is believed to have been born in Cana of Galilee and was a Jewish zealot before joining the disciples of Jesus.
